Peter Jonson is a professional director and economist. He serves on the board of listed company Village Roadshow Ltd and several technology-based private or unlisted public companies.
Peter was Chairman of Bionomics Ltd from 2004 to 2009. He was Chairman of the Melbourne Institute Advisory Board from 1992 to 2002, and now Chair Emeritus. Founding Chair of the Australian Institute for Commercialism from 2002 to 2007. Chair of the Commonwealth Government Co-Operative Research Centres (CRC) Committee from 2005 to 2010.
Peter has been Chairman of ANZ Funds Management, Group Managing Director of Norwich Union Financial Services Ltd and Head of Research at James Capel Australia Limited. Peter held a number of senior positions as an economist with the Reserve Bank of Australia from 1972 to 1988. He is a Fellow of the Academy of the Social Sciences in Australia and a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
